Ongoing Education

Education Days: We strive to host four education days per year and are committed to professional development and closing the gap between research and evidence-based practice.

Conferences: Multiple conferences are held each year and many of our staff have submitted abstracts and have been supported to attend. Interested staff members will be paired with mentors.

Courses: Course Catalogue Registration System (CCRS) hosts a wide variety of courses. We are committed to ongoing professional development by providing CNA certification, ACLS, educator/leadership pathways, etc.

Quality Academy (BC Patient Safety Quality Council): The Quality Academy is a professional development program delivered over six months. Participants attend five in-person residency sessions and lead a quality project within their organizations.

Research Challenge: There are many opportunities available for direct care staff to participate in and lead research projects with the support of workshops and research mentors.

Safety Huddles: There are frequent and regular bedside huddles in which patient safety strategies are discussed and focused upon.
